Reflecting the nature and significance of its features, the Museum is also a National Historic Site of Canada and part of the network of Underground Railroad Sites in Ontario.

Toward community relations and commitment to learning, the Museum offers financial awards to support the post-secondary education of students with unique contributions to Black history and community.
