Events & Exhibits > Taylor Log Cabin

The Taylor Log Cabin stands as both a gallery in which to view exhibits and an exhibit unto itself. The Cabin was the residence of George Taylor and his family after 1880. George had gained his freedom through the Underground Railroad. The Cabin was initially part of Fort Malden, an 1812 military site in Amherstburg. Since its relocation to become part of the Black Historical Museum, the Cabin allows first-hand insight into a home typical of the times. Visitors can walk through the Cabin among many original furnishings and artifacts.
