Giving > Planned Giving
Planned giving shows appreciation and commitment to the Museum in an extended way. A gift that is planned provides support to the Museum long term.
A special type of Museum membership, Sustaining Member, is available for this purpose. A sustaining member chooses to support the Museum in an ongoing manner, with a monthly contribution of the member’s choice. This regular contribution, of any amount, is significant for the Museum. Ongoing support helps to create stability and ensure the continuation of the Museum and its vital role in protecting and promoting Black heritage. For more on become a sustaining member, please see Membership.
For others, planned giving means a gift for the Museum arranged in advance and provided to the Museum upon the donor’s passing. Such as with a legacy gift, the generous gift of cash or an asset can be specified in one’s will. This decision is deeply meaningful and reflects the importance of the Museum in the life of the donor and loved ones. The Museum’s staff can help with details which can also benefit the donor.
