Learning > School Visits

A trip to the North American Black Historical Museum is an excellent way to enhance the curriculum, for public, private and home school groups. A popular choice with teachers, the venture allows a unique and engaging educational experience that only a visit to the Museum can provide. Teachers can resource teaching materials too, like the fun Museum Scavenger Hunt available for pre-trip use, as another way to guide learning!

Please book your visit with the Museum 14 days in advance. If you must change or cancel a reservation, please provide 7 days notice prior to the scheduled visit, to avoid a fee. Alterations can not be accommodated within this 7-day period. Inclement weather is exempt.

School trips vary in content, size and price. Please contact the Museum for details specific to the package for your class trip.

School visits are scheduled in either morning or afternoon blocks. Lunches must be eaten off site.

Supervisors must remain with students at all times and are responsible for students’ behaviour. The student/supervisor ratio must adhere to your school’s requirements for field trips. You will receive the Museum’s policy on conduct with your reservation. Please review these rules with your students before your visit. Quiet voices and no food, drink, gum or running is permitted. The guidelines are also listed below.
