The Nazrey African Methodist Episcopal Church is one of the oldest churches of its kind in Canada. The building measures 44 feet 6 inches by 31 feet 3 inches (44’6” x 31’3”). The exterior walls are stucco and original hand-laid fieldstone. The roof has cedar shingles. The Church has 3 gothic (pointed arch) windows on both sides, plus 2 at the front.

The exterior wall above the front door includes a stone arch detail. The front door includes a small wooden foyer as transition to the main structure.

Inside, at the front of the Church, are the altar area and, behind that, the choir annex. The altar is raised 6 inches (6”h), as suitable for presentations. The congregation area has original wooden pews 7 rows deep and 3 sections across, with 2 aisles dividing the sections.

The Church has wood floors. The vaulted ceiling is painted wood with wooden features. The ceiling colour is dark and the walls are neutral.

Washrooms are in the main building next door.

If required for your function, please discuss the use of sound equipment, tables, chairs and other features.
